Entrepreneurs know that while an idea is the spark for a venture, it cannot thrive without a well thought out and plan and dedicated team. Putting a team together and discussing ideas on a large campus may seem like a daunting task, but MPowered is here to help. MPowered Connect brings together people with ideas and people interested in entrepreneurship in a casual setting where ideas are presented and teams are formed.
The focus of this last MPowered Connect was social entrepreneurship, a fast growing and increasingly important area at the intersection of community service and responsible business practice. Students from social entrepreneurship organizations on campus were present to discuss their experiences. It was a great event to discuss what we are all working on and develop potential collaboration efforts. There was a brief period for individuals to pitch their ideas, and also a mingling period for students to meet those who pitched and other interested individuals.
The event is open to all UM students and RSVP-ing to the event is not mandatory.
